Vietnamese firms sign large contracts at Gulfood Exhibition 2019

The Gulfood Exhibition 2019, the world’s largest annual food and beverages trade show, was held at the World Trade Centre in Dubai from February 17-21, during which Vietnamese enterprises signed large contracts worth approximately US$20 million.

The Vietnam pavilion attracts a large number of visitors

This is the 24th year that the trade show has been held with 120 country pavilions by nearly 5,000 exhibitors which attracted over 90,000 visitors from 170 countries worldwide.

The Vietnam country pavilion covered 129m2 with the participation of 20 leading Vietnamese food and beverage enterprises, including Vinamilk, Hapro, Dong Giao, Richy, Nafoods, and others, who brought key Vietnamese agricultural products to the show, such as rice, coffee, tea, spices, confectionery, milk and dairy products, aquatic products, and processed fruits, among others.

According to the agricultural promotion centre under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnamese enterprises signed deals and memoranda of understanding worth a total of US$20 million, including over US$7 million worth of seafood products and US$4 million worth of spices.

Vietnamese enterprises all valued the efficiency of the participation in the trade show, while expressing their wish to continue to attend the country pavilion held by the agricultural promotion centre in the subsequent years.

The enterprises also suggested the expansion of the scale of the Vietnam pavilion and the organisation of more promotion activities in the next show to increase the effectiveness of the trade show./.
