8th session of Long An Provincial People's Council passes 42 important resolutions

After 2 days of democratic, serious and highly responsible work, on December 10, the 8th session of the Provincial People's Council officially closed.

Accordingly, the 8th session of the Provincial People's Council has completed all the proposed contents and programs. In particular, the Provincial People's Council completed a large amount of work with a very high consensus. At the meeting, delegates unanimously approved 42 important resolutions on socio-economic development and activities of the Provincial People's Council.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council focused on analyzing and comprehensively evaluating the results of the implementation of socio-economic development plan in 2022. The Provincial People's Council highly appreciated the drastic and dynamic direction and management of the Provincial People's Committee, all levels and branches in organizing the implementation of targets and tasks according to the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee and the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council, thereby, contributing to speeding up the recovery and development of most socio-economic activities after the pandemic, with the economic growth rate (GRDP) reaching quite high at 8.46%, ranking 12th in the country in term of economic scale, budget revenue reached nearly 22 trillion VND, etc.

At the same time, the Provincial People's Council pointed out the shortcomings and limitations in a number of sectors and fields, analyzed and forecasted difficulties and challenges in the coming time, set out 20 key indicators of socio - economic, environment for 2023, strivng for the economic growth target (GRDP) to reach 8 to 8.5%.

On that basis, the Provincial People's Council unanimously proposed tasks, solutions and major orientations for socio-economic development in 2023.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc praised the positive working spirit and responsibility of the Provincial People's Council delegates and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility, close coordination of the agencies of the People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, relevant advisory and assisting agencies, contributing to the success of the meeting.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc suggested that, immediately after the meeting, delegates of the Provincial People's Council should urgently report to voters on the results of the meeting, regularly keep close contact, listen to and fully reflect the opinions of voters as well as promptly encourage the people to well implement the guidelines of the Party, the policies and laws of the State and the resolutions passed by the Provincial People's Council.

In addition, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc said that in 2023, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council will organize a contest "Voters' plan to build Long An" on forums, social networking site of the Provincial People's Council, "Long An ID" application and on the mass media with the goal of building Long An to be rich and strong with a safe and civilized society, a transparent and strong goverment./.
