Currently, Long An has a very large area of seedless lime growing, concentrated in Ben Luc district with nearly 7,000 hectares, of which the area for the product is 6,600 hectares. The province also focuses on developing lime trees in the direction of high technology to increase value, with many businesses inside and outside the province collaborating with farmers to produce, consume and export to many countries around the world.

Now, seedless lime trees have become an enriching crop for farmers and a pride when Ben Luc Long An seedless lime products are not only famous within the geographical area of Ben Luc district or Long An province but also successively conquered the European, Middle Eastern and Asian and North American markets, contributing to the process of changing the face of rural areas.

In the context of competition and brand protection for seedless lime products, the Department of Science and Technology of Long An province has signed a contract with CIPTEK Intellectual Property and Technology Research Center (CIPTEK Center) Implementing the project "Creating, managing and promoting the geographical indication for Ben Luc - Long An seedless lime".

In addition, Ben Luc seedless limes have been granted a Geographical Indication Registration Certificate and a Trademark Registration Certificate by the National Office of Intellectual Property. This is also a strategic intellectual property tool to enhance the reputation, value and position of seedless lime products in Long An province./.
