Closing Ceremony of the 2021 National Cai Luong Festival

After a period of competition with 27 plays and nearly 1,000 artists and actors from 22 participating units, the 2021 National Cai Luong Festival was a great success. During the competition, the participating units received enthusiastic cheers from the audience in Long An as well as neighboring provinces and cities.

This festival is highly appreciated by the Arts Council. The themes presented in the plays are considered to be rich and diverse with 7 plays on historical topics, 4 plays on folk themes and 16 plays on revolutionary and contemporary war themes. Many plays are imbued with cultural identity, praising heroic history, great customs,etc.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Steering Committee of the 2021 National Cai Luong Festival - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Quang Dong delivered the closing speech of the festival.

Chairman of Council of Arts - Playwright Nguyen Sy Chuc said that the 2021 National Cai Luong Festival had featured many plays of high artistic quality with clear and profound ideological themes, which were transmitted through attractive content, focusing on praising the love of homeland, country, love between people. Many plays reached emotional sublimation, profound content and high artistic quality.

Two young artists Vo Hoang Du and Thu My (Long An Cai Luong Art troupe) won the Actor Gold Medal at the festival

The highlight of this festival is the appearance of young actors in many different roles and positions: director, artist. This is the first festival with the participation of so many young artists.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the festival, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Festival Steering Committee - Ta Quang Dong asked art units and functional agencies to pay attention and invest in people and materials of the plays, focus on improving, technical training for actors. He also asked them to make efforts to promote and propagate good quality plays of this festival to the public.

The Organizing Committee awarded the Gold Medal to the artists

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 40 Actor Gold Medals, 53 Actor Silver Medals and 31 Actor Bronze Medals to the artists participating in the festival. For the play, the Organizing Committee awarded 5 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals and 3 Bronze Medals for the plays participating in the festival.

The two plays Dat lien va bien ca (Hai Phong Cai Luong troupe) and Ben dong Long Khot (Long An Cai Luong troupe) excellently won the Best Play award. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded creative elements participating in the festival, along with following awards: Best Vocalist, Youngest Male Actor, Youngest Female Actress,etc.

The National Cai Luong Festival is a regularly held event and considered a great playground for professional Cai Luong artists and art units nationwide.
