Attending the workshop were former Politburo member, former Standing Deputy Prime Minister - Truong Hoa Binh; Politburo member, Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council - Nguyen Xuan Thang; Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department - Phan Xuan Thuy; leaders of central ministries and branches; provinces and representatives of comrade Vo Van Ngan's family and relatives.
The workshop is a practical activity to celebrate the 120th birthday of Comrade Vo Van Ngan (1902 - 2022), and at the same time, reviewing his life of revolutionary activities, honoring his important contributions to the Vietnamese Party and Revolution. This is also an opportunity for officials, party members and people to express their deep gratitude to Comrade Vo Van Ngan, the forerunner of the Vietnamese revolution, an excellent son of his hometown Long An.

The workshop received 36 articles and 10 presentations focusing on clarifying the main contents: Comrade Vo Van Ngan - A pioneer revolutionary soldier in the national liberation movement, a first generation Party member; Comrade Vo Van Ngan - An excellent leader of the Party; Comrade Vo Van Ngan - A shining example of revolutionary morality; Comrade Vo Van Ngan - The excellent son of his hometown Long An;etc.

Vo Van Ngan was born in 1902, in a patriotic peasant family with a revolutionary tradition in Binh Ta hamlet, Duc Hoa village, Duc Hoa district, old Cho Lon province (now is Duc Hoa Dong commune, Duc Hoa district, Long An province). Early maturity in mind, with high organizational capacity, after just 1 year becoming a member of the Party, comrade Vo Van Ngan was entrusted by the Party to be Secretary of the Gia Dinh Provincial Party Committee (1931 - 1932. ), then Secretary of the Cho Lon Provincial Party Committee (1932 - 1935). He made important contributions to the restoration and consolidation of the Party organization and development of revolutionary movement in Gia Dinh and Cho Lon.

As an official delegate to the First Congress of the Communist Party of Indochina (March 1935), comrade Vo Van Ngan participated in researching, formulating and planning the Party's paths and policies in the new situation and elected the Central Executive Committee to lead the movement. At the congress, he was trusted and elected to the Party Central Committee.
As Secretary of CochinchinaParty Committee (1935 - 1937), he led activities to restore the Party Committee, re-establishing many grassroots Party organizations from the village to the districts and villages level; develop the movement of workers and peasants; strongly launched the democracy movement with diverse and flexible forms: establishing an Action Committee, recruiting volunteers, a number of Communist Party members to run Saigon - Cho Lon Council election;etc.
He was the one who carefully prepared the location of Party Central Committee in the area of 18 Vuon Trau hamlets, participated in organizing many meetings, preliminary discussions to prepare for the plenary conference, ensuring the Executive Committee of the Party Central Committee (expanded) in March 1937 and the Conference of the Party Central Committee (September 1937) to take place safely and smoothly.

The life and revolutionary career of Comrade Vo Van Ngan is associated with the glorious history pages of the Vietnamese revolution in the 20s and 30s of the XXth century. From joining the Communist Party of Vietnam (1930) until his death (1938), no matter what position he held, he always observed the situation, being flexible, creative, upholding the spirit of resilient struggle, did not being discouraged, did not back down from difficulties and hardships, successfully completed assigned tasks. The Party Committee and people of Long An are always proud, trying their best to study the model of Comrade Vo Van Ngan, striving to successfully carry out socio-economic development tasks.

Speaking at the closing of the workshop, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department - Phan Xuan Thuy said that with an objective and scientific approach, experts and scientists have clarified about life and career of Comrade Vo Van Ngan, the predecessor leader of the Vietnamese revolution and his hometown of Long An. Papers sent to the conference will be edited, revised, supplemented and used as a document for research on the life and revolutionary career of Comrade Vo Van Ngan in the new period.
