Cooperatives and hi-tech cow-raising establishments can be supported one billion VND to invest in equipment renewal

Hi-tech cow-raising model in Duc Hue

"This is one of the regulations in developing the hi-tech agriculture associated with restructuring the agricultural sector in the province in the period 2021-2025", Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development - Nguyen Chi Thien shared. 

According to regulations, the one-time support level of 70 percent of the total cost of purchasing seeds, materials, hi-tech equipment, modern technology, automation and digital technology to build a pilot model of advanced technology application, high technology in beef cattle raising, but the maximum support amount is not more than 300 million VND per model. One-time support is 50 percent of the total cost of purchasing seeds, materials and hi-tech equipment, modern technology, automation and digital technology to build and replicate advanced and hi-tech application models in production, but the maximum support amount is not more than 200 million VND per model. Support 10 million VND per reproductive female cow aged 12 months old or older for breeding establishments to convert to high quality beef breeds but the maximum support amount is not more than 200 million VND per establishments.

To be supported with the above policy, the pilot model must have a total herd of at least 30 reproductive female cows; the replication model has a total herd of at least 15 reproductive female cows; livestock establishments with a total herd of 10 cows or more, including at least 3 reproductive cows. The maintenance of breeding female cows is supported for at least 3 years, in case of forced culling or liquidation ahead of time, there must be agreement of the supporting agency. Using cow breeds permitted for trade and use in Vietnam issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Also according to the regulations, 100 percent of the cost of artificial insemination once will be supported, including high quality cow's sperm and accompanying materials, but the maximum support amount is not more than 120,000 VND per time, maximum no more than 2 times of insemination per head per year for all beef cattle raising households located in the permitted breeding areas of 4 districts of Duc Hoa, Duc Hue, Thu Thua and Tan Tru. Conditions for this policy support must meet the conditions for using bovine semen that are allowed to be traded and used in Vietnam issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

In addition, there is a policy to support one time up to 100 percent of the liquid nitrogen container value for inseminations, the support level is not more than 5 million VND per liquid nitrogen container. To be supported with this policy, it must meet the conditions of leading the crew to participate in the program and storing and using the flask for a period of not less than 3 consecutive years.

In addition, the policy also stipulates to support 50 percent of costs for cooperatives, enterprises and livestock production facilities to invest in renovation of modern equipment and tools, research and improvement, and transfer assignment, hi-tech investment, new technology in feeding beef cattle, the maximum support amount is not more than 1 billion VND per project. To be eligible for this policy support, there must be investment plans and plans to renew modern equipment and tools, research and improve, receive and transfer, and apply high and new technologies in feeding beef cattle and must meet the conditions prescribed by the Law on Livestock 2018./.
