Mr. Le Van Ton (Hai Hung Hamlet, Nhon Hoa Commune, Tan Thanh District) is currently cultivating more than 300 durian trees.
Mr. Ton overcame poverty through a high-tech rice farming model combined with integrated agricultural production. Born into a poor family, he worked many jobs, yet his household continued to face hardship. After many nights of careful thought, he made a bold decision to take out a bank loan to improve his land, launching a high-tech rice cultivation project paired with fruit tree planting and poultry farming. By applying scientific and technological advancements, both his crop cultivation and livestock farming achieved impressive economic efficiency. Building on his early success, Mr. Tồn reinvested to expand his fruit tree plantations and livestock operations.
Today, his 24 hectares of high-tech rice fields and over 300 durian and jackfruit trees generate over 1 billion VND (approximately 40,000 USD) in annual income. He also provides stable employment for 10 local workers, each earning about 6 million VND (240 USD) per month.
Beyond improving his circumstances, Mr. Ton is deeply engaged in community development. As part of the New Rural Development campaign, he voluntarily donated land and structures worth 50 million VND, along with many days of labor to help build local roads. He also shares livestock breeds and technical expertise with families facing economic hardship.
"I was born into a poor family, so I understand the struggles of poverty," Mr. Ton shared. "Now that I'm financially stable, I'm happy to support others and help them find motivation to move forward."
According to Mr. Le Van Vu, Vice Chairman of the Nhon Hoa Commune Farmers’ Association, Mr. Ton is a model member who actively participates in the association’s activities and local initiatives, especially in supporting underprivileged households.
