Former State President of State - Truong Tan Sang awards scholarships to studious needy students
On November 1, Long An Study Promotion Association collaborated with the Department of Education and Training and Dong Binh Duong Urban Development Co., Ltd. to hold a ceremony to receive scholarships for studious needy students in Long An province in the academic year 2020- 2021. Former State President - Truong Tan Sang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Nguyen Thanh Hai attended the event.
210 studious needy students receive scholarships
At the ceremony, 210 studious needy students in districts and towns of Dong Thap Muoi and Duc Hue district received scholarships from the former State President - Truong Tan Sang who mobilized Dong Binh Duong Urban Development Co., Ltd. to sponsor. Each scholarship is from 2-4 million VND. In which, primary level students received 2 million VND per scholarship; the lower secondary level students received 3 million VND per scholarship; High school level students received 4 million VND per scholarship with a total cost of nearly 700 million VND. Each level has 70 scholarships.

In addition, the Provincial Study Promotion Association also received 4.5 billion VND from donors. In which, Dong Tam Joint Stock Company supported 3 billion VND, Phuong Hoang International Tourism Development Company Limited supported 1 billion VND and Hong Van Hotel Joint Stock Company supported 500 million VND.
It is known that from the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year up to now, the Study Promotion Association at all levels actively mobilizes benefactors, sponsors, companies and units inside and outside the province to allocate 18,192 scholarships and 27,067 gifts with a total budget of more than 18 billion VND for pupils and students overcoming difficulties and learning in the province.

Former State President - Truong Tan Sang thanked donors for responding to the call, to take care of the educational cause of Long An province, especially to support studious neey students in remote areas of the province. He hopes that they will make their best efforts to study and imitate their predecessors to contribute to the development of the country.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa expressed his deep gratitude to the former State President - Truong Tan Sang and the sponsors always accompanying studious needy pupils and students in Long An province. In particular, the former State President - Truong Tan Sang always cares for and has deep feelings for his homeland of Long An. The scholarships are a timely concern to help them overcome difficulties, strive to improve in life and live responsibly with themselves, their families and the community; then, we strive to practice morality and acquire knowledge to become useful people for society.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Long An province also awarded certificates of merit to 4 collectives and 5 individuals for their achievements in the province's study promotion activities./.
