Long An Customs Department: Import and export revenue reaches over 88 percent of target

According to Long An Customs Department, up to July 15, their import and export tax revenue have reached VND 2,156.7 billion, achieving 88.4 percent of the Ministry of Finance's target (VND 2,440 billion), reaching 83 percent of the General Department of Customs’ target (VND 2,600 billion), an increase of 76 percent compared to the same period of 2018.

In which, the revenue in Long An province has reached VND 1,996 billion, reaching 97 percent of the Ministry of Finance's target and 90 percent of the General Department of Customs’ target, up 94 percent compared to the same period in 2018. The remainder has been collected in Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces.

To be more specific, from the beginning of the year to July 15, import-export turnover under the commercial contract through Long An Customs Department reached USD 7.82 billion (export reached USD 4.53 billion, import reached USD 3.29 billion), up 12 percent compared to the same period of 2018. Besides, 1,491 enterprises (482 foreign-invested enterprises and 1,009 domestic enterprises) participated in import and export activities through Long An Customs Department, up 18 percent over the same period in 2018.

According to the leaders of Long An Customs Department, the budget revenue from import and export activities has increased since the beginning of the year, increasing compared to the same period. From the beginning of the year to the middle of July, 258,401 declarations were implemented customs procedures (up 18 percent compared to 2018), including 165,898 export declarations and 92,503 import declarations.

Garment is one of the main export products of the province

The main export products through Long An Customs Department are footwear, seafood, garment, metal, coal, aquatic food, and so on. Imported goods are iron, steel, metal; plastic, machinery, and equipment; raw materials for processing, chemicals, raw materials for textile, footwear, etc.

Currently, Long An Customs Department is strengthening administrative procedure reforms and activities to support enterprises to implement import and export procedures thanks to strengthening the relationship between customs and enterprises. Besides, the propaganda, introduction and guidance of enterprises to implement legal regulations related to import and export procedures are carried out regularly./.
