At the meeting, the delegation was introduced by the representative of Kobelco Group about the history of formation and development, capacity and some typical projects of the Group in Vietnam.

Accordingly, Kobelco Corporation (collective name of Kobe Steel Group) was established on September 1, 1905, with headquarters in Chuo-ku, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. The Group specializes in steel production and provides solutions for machinery, equipment, engineering and construction works. By March 31, 2022, the group has more than 40,000 employees with more than 212 subsidiaries, affiliates and branches around the world. In June 1954, a subsidiary of the Group, Kobelco Eco-Solutions, was established with the main business focusing on environmental treatment solutions.

Particularly in Vietnam, since 2010, the Group has established Kobelco Eco-Solutions Vietnam Co., Ltd. specializing in the fields of design, construction, operation and maintenance of water treatment plants, clean water supply plant, sludge treatment area, and waste incinerator. Typical projects of the Group in Vietnam include the Red River Surface Water Plant Project with a treatment capacity of 300,000 m3/day; An Duong Water Plant Project in Hai Phong with a capacity of 100,000 m3/day, and phase 2 water environment improving project in Binh Duong with a capacity of 17,000 m3/day.

After working at the Group's headquarters, Long An delegation visited and learned about a wastewater treatment project with equipment and technology invested and developed by Kobelco Group. These technologies are also currently being used for the Group's projects in Cambodia and Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Long An province - Nguyen Van Ut highly appreciated the Group's achievements and projects in Vietnam. He also said that Long An is in the phase of focusing on synchronous development in the fields of industry and urban areas. Therefore, the demand for clean water supply, wastewater treatment, environmental treatment, etc is very high. These are all expertise areas of the Group.

Mr. Ut expected that in the near future, Kobelco Group would come to learn and have many specific investment and cooperation activities in the province. The Government of Long An is committed to providing the best support for the Group's activities when it comes to invest and cooperate./.
