Long An: In the first 9 months of 2019, exports are estimated at 4.4 billion USD

In the first 9 months of 2019, export turnover in Long An province was estimated at 4.46 billion USD, up 16.6% over the same period in 2018 (up 17.9 %).

In 9 months of 2019, the rice export of enterprises in the province was estimated at 521,520 tons

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Long An province, in 9 months of 2019, the export turnover of the province was estimated at 4.46 billion USD, up 16.6% over the same period in 2018 (up 17.9%); import turnover was estimated at 3.27 billion USD, up 7.5% over the same period in 2018 (up 7.5%).

In which, garment products had the largest export turnover with 924 million USD, up 29.1%; followed by leather shoes with 694.4 million USD, up 18.6% over the same period in 2018. In particular, in 9 months of 2019, the rice export of enterprises in the province was estimated at 521,520 tons, reaching 222.3 million USD, up 28.8% in volume and up 9.4% over the same period in 2018.

Rice is mainly exported to the market of the Philippines, China, Malaysia, Ivory Coast, etc. Although rice exports increase over the same period, it is not as much as in previous years. 

In addition, the competition among domestic enterprises makes export rice prices fall to a low level. At present, the export prices of 5%, 10%, 15% and 25% broken rice are 320 USD per ton, 330 USD per ton, 335 USD per ton and 340 USD per ton, respectively.

In addition, the export prices of Jasmine fragrant rice, Nang Hoa rice, Taiwan fragrant rice 8 and Japonica are 510 USD per ton, 560 USD per ton, 485 USD per ton and 480 USD per ton, respectively. The export price of sticky rice is 590 USD per ton./.
