Long An promotes training in semiconductor industry

Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa chaired the meeting. Also attending were representatives of provincial departments, branches and representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Saigon Technology and Telecommunications Joint Stock Company (Saigon Tel).

Through the meeting, delegates discussed and agreed on the construction and implementation of the project on Human Resource Training for the semiconductor industry in Long An province in 2024.

Previously, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee with ADB and Saigon Tel had working sessions related to the project. In particular, ADB will support Long An province to develop the project "Training human resources for the semiconductor industry in Long An province for the period 2024 - 2030, oriented to 2045" with their funding, Long An province will receive the project (in products) according to regulations.

Specifically, ADB proposed to support the province with 50,000 USD to hire domestic consultants on semiconductor and AI human resource development; economic and financial analysis; economic and social analysis. In addition, ADB wants to support leaders and key officials in relevant departments and branches to participate in courses abroad related to semiconductor human resource training.

It is expected that the first draft of the project will be completed in July 2024. After completing the documents, ADB will support Long An province to implement the project with an ODA loan of less than 35 million USD.

Speaking during the working session, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa emphasized that the province is advocating training human resources in semiconductor circuit occupations related to high technology applications to meet the requirements of socio-economic development.

Mr. Pham Tan Hoa directed provincial departments and branches to strengthen coordination with ADB and Saigon Tel representatives to soon complete the project outline and the training program./.
