Long An ranks 5th in attracting FDI

In the first 9 months of 2023, the number of newly established businesses and the registered capital of domestic and foreign investment projects in the province increased over the same period. Of which, there are nearly 1,400 newly established domestic enterprises, an increase of 7.6% over the same period, with a total capital of 13,859 billion VND. To date, in the province there are more than 16,500 businesses registered to operate with a total capital of 366,593 billion VND.

The province has granted permision for 59 new projects (a decrease of 18 projects) with a total new registered capital of 42,495 billion VND (an increase of 22,938.6 billion VND). To date, there are 2,191 domestic projects in the province with registered capital of 254,502 billion VND.

Attracting FDI continues to be the province's highlight. Since the beginning of the year, Long An has granted permision for 82 new projects (an increase of 39 projects) with a total newly registered capital of nearly 550 million USD (an increase of more than 250 million USD). To date, there are 1,215 FDI projects in the province, with capital of more than 10.5 billion USD. According to a report from the General Statistics Office, in the first 9 months of 2023, Long An province ranked 5/63 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of number of projects and 7/63 in terms of newly registered capital.

According to Acting Director of Long An Department of Planning and Investment - Truong Van Liep, domestic and foreign investment promotion activities are being focused on and strengthened by the province. Long An proactively approaches organizations, large investors, and projects that are consistent with the province's investment attraction orientation. At the same time, the province successfully organized many business dialogue conferences operating in Ben Luc, Can Giuoc, Duc Hoa districts, etc to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles of businesses so that they can recover production and business activities./.
