Long An: Retail sales in April 2019 increased by 2.8 percent

In April 2019, total retail sales of goods and services revenue reached more than VND 7,226 billion, up 2.8 percent over the previous month and 16.3 percent over the same period.

In the first 4 months of 2019, total retail sales of goods and services revenue reached VND 29,641 billion, reaching 33.4 percent of the plan.

Accordingly, there was a rise in the figures for food (0.48 percent); drinks and cigarettes (0.39 percent); equipment and household appliances (0.23 percent); culture, entertainment and tourism (0.08 percent); housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials (0.06 percent); and garments, hats and shoes (0.05 percent).

However, price of food items and catering services as well as gold decreased.

Medicine and health care services, education and telecommunications remained unchanged.

Retail sales of goods in April 2019 increased because of the stability of market prices. Besides, business activities in markets and supermarkets in the province are more and more diversified and busier in terms of goods to meet people's needs./.
