Attending the Congress were Head of the People's Aid Coordination Committee under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations - Nguyen Ngoc Hung; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council – Mai Van Nhie; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Huynh Van Son and former leaders of the province; leaders of departments, branches, socio-political organizations of the province.

The Executive Committee of the Union of Long An Union of Friendship Organizations, term 2023-2028 launchs the congress

In the 2014-2023 term, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations implemented and basically completed the set targets and tasks, achieving comprehensive results. People diplomacy activities have been carried out consistently in close coordination, continuously improving efficiency under the motto "proactive, flexible, creative and effective".

The work of coordination, strengthening cooperation, mobilizing foreign non-governmental aid contribute to support socio-economic development, social security, poverty reduction, new rural construction. Last term, the whole province received 258 projects and non-projects, the average annual value of non-refundable aid was over 15 billion VND, including housing projects; rural bridge construction; schools and non-projects for congenital heart surgeries;etc.

In the spirit of urgency and seriousness, the congress elected Executive Committee of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations for the term 2023-2028, including 17 members, with 4 missing members elected later. Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngoc was re-elected as President of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, term 2023-2028.

Head of the People's Aid Coordination Committee under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations - Nguyen Ngoc Hung congratulated and praised the efforts and initiative of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations in the last term. Although the past time has been difficult, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations has achieved outstanding achievements, contributing to making friends and foreign partners understand the guidelines and policies of the Party and State, mobilize public to protect national interests.

Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Huynh Van Son requested provincial departments and branches to help the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee strengthen consularity, direction, state management, have close coordination with the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and bilateral friendship associations to focus on performing well the political tasks assigned by the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.

At the same time, he suggested that the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations pay more attention in directing, guiding and supporting the locality, and suggested the central authority to have uniform regulations to follow the spirit of Party's directive "The Union is closely organized, esuring staffs, regimes and policies for cadres, funding and working conditions" to meet the needs of people's affairs requirementss in the new situation.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations presented commemorative flags to the  Long An Union of Friendship Organizations and the medals for peace between nations to two individuals./.
