Online stores focus on brand building to increase sales

In the era of strong technological development, business is no longer limited to traditional forms but has expanded to online platforms. Thanks to the application of technology, many small and retail businesses have found new directions, increased revenue and expanded customer base.

1. Previously, Ms. Phan Thanh Nu (Ward 1, Tan An City, Long An Province) did business in Thu Thua Town, Thu Thua District. In mid-2024, she decided to come to Tan An City to rent a space for a restaurant. Because it was her first time selling food and she came from another place, she encountered many difficulties, especially finding customers.

Ms. Nu saw many drivers wearing orange shirts regularly buying and delivering food. After learning, she found out that these were technology drivers working through the VILL application. Realizing the potential, she decided to register her restaurant on this application. Since then, the number of customers has increased significantly. "There were many customers who did not know about the restaurant before, but thanks to seeing it on the application, they ordered to try it, found it delicious and then ordered again. Some people even came to the restaurant to eat directly" - Ms. Nu said.

Ms. Nu shared: “There are customers in Tan Huong commune (Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province) who order food through the app, even though the delivery fee is more than 40,000 VND, they are still willing to pay because it suits their taste. There are people in Tam Vu town (Chau Thanh district) who also regularly order, even though the delivery fee is high, they still accept it because they like the food.”

Thanks to the support of the technology delivery app, Ms. Nu’s restaurant’s revenue has increased significantly. On average, she sells about 1 million VND worth of rice and noodles per day (on this platform alone), not to mention the number of customers who come to eat directly at the restaurant.

With a large number of customers, Ms. Nu always focuses on the quality and taste of the food. “No matter how you promote it through the app or in any other way, if the food is not delicious, customers will only order once and then stop. Therefore, I try to cook delicious and appetizing dishes so that customers will come back many times" - Ms. Nu added.

2. Ms. Nguyen Le Ngoc Huyen (known to many customers as Duong Man Nhi, Ward 6, Tan An City) is currently the owner of a handbag shop and a food cart in Tan An City. She started selling handbags nearly 9 years ago. At that time, during the day, she went to work for a company, and in the evening, she livestreamed to sell handbags on Facebook. Thanks to the social networking platform, she reached a large number of customers nationwide. Currently, her fanpage has more than 106,000 followers. When TikTok became popular, she opened an account, taking advantage of this platform to build her personal image and reach new customers. Currently, her TikTok account has attracted more than 121,000 followers.

From the end of 2024, she decided to quit her job at the company to focus entirely on business; at the same time, she opened a food cart. Thanks to social networks and online delivery applications, reaching customers has become easier. Ms. Huyen shared: “Before, I always sold products thanks to social networks, and customers also knew me thanks to that. Without social networks, I probably wouldn't have achieved nowadays results. In the past, when I sold handbags, I was very diligent in livestreaming. There were days when I sold 50-100 bags. When I switched to selling food, I also recorded clips and posted them so that more customers would know about them."

Currently, in addition to doing business, Ms. Huyen also regularly explores restaurants in Tan An City. When she finds a good restaurant, she records videos and shares them on social networks, both helping people know about delicious places to eat and supporting the restaurant to have more customers.

In the context of changing consumer trends, combining traditional and online business is an inevitable direction./.
