Policy communication must focus on people, towards people

However, the initial results of policy communication renewal are still mainly concentrated in central agencies with equipped resources and basic investment. In many localities, especially in some ministries and branches, communication work has not been given enough attention.

At the conference, leaders of ministries, branches and localities gave presentations to promote effective policy communication. Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh Lam said that over the past time, many big and sensitive issues on the media front have been directed and properly implemented by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Long An, creating propaganda effect.

At the same time, he proposed Ministry of Information and Communications to strengthen guidance on the process, form, content and method of policy communication, organize professional training courses on policy communication, crisis communication skills and focus on training to improve the editing and production capacity of media products (information, articles, infographics,etc) for local policy communication teams.

Concluding the conference, Prime Minister - Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that policy communication would be an important part of communication activities of the Party and State. He suggested that policy communication should focus on the people, and all policies are geared towards the people to ensure that they had a free, independent, prosperous and happy life.

At the same time, the Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to strengthen policy communication teams; stepping up the application of information technology; promoting the active role of the press agency in policy communication activities; and protecting the ideological foundation of the Party. In addition, it is necessary to innovate in forms and methods, promote the active role of press agency in policy communication, and protect the ideological foundation of the Party for the sake of the nation and the people./.
