By 2020, with the determination of the whole political system, the efforts and determination of all economic sectors and people of the whole district, the district Party Committee will direct the implementation of achieving and exceeding most of the main targets of the district Resolution proposed by the District Party Committee. In which, there are 6 criteria exceeded the targets, 12 criteria met the targets and 1 criterion has not been met the targets but completed at a high level. At the same time, the district Party Committee has successfully organized the Congress of the Party Committee at all levels in the district for the term 2020-2025, especially the XIIth Congress of District Party Committee – the typical Congress of the province and focused on well implementing the prevention and control of Covid-19b epidemic.

According to the general assessment of the District Party Committee, the local economy continues to develop. The growth rate of production value of major economic sectors is estimated to reach 7.24 percent by 2020, the structure shifted properly toward the direction of industry - construction, trade-service and agriculture. In which, agricultural production has strongly developed. The application of high technology has brought many positive results. Up to now, the district has nearly 1,005 hectares of vegetable production and nearly 305 hectares of brackish shrimp applying high technology. Industry continues to be the driving force in economic development.

In 2020, the district will continue to focus on drastically implementing the breakthrough program on compensation, site clearance and so on according to the Conclusion 720 of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, to well promote the role of the district Commission for Compensation on site clearance and resettlement. In particular, the district has paid compensation and supported 580 households and individuals with the amount of nearly 790 billion VND on an area of 69.5 hectares, making a great contribution to helping the district continue to be an attractive destination for investors. The cultural and social fields continue to achieve new achievements, social security is guaranteed, reducing poverty, creating job and regular subsidies for policy beneficiaries are paid attention to and implemented, especially the district completed early the progress of the building, repairing and handing over 92 compassionate houses to poor, near-poor and difficult households according to the XIIth Resolution of District Party Committee. Security and defense have been kept stable.

In addition, the activities of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations are strongly concentrated on the grassroots level; Party building work, strengthening Party discipline and discipline, building internal solidarity associated with the implementation of Directive 05 on learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, Central Committee 4 (Session XII) and the Party's exemplary regulations. Up to now, the district has completed the construction of a resolution to concretize the breakthrough programs and key works of the district level Communist Party Committee and the grassroots level 2020-2025.

One of the bright spots of the district in the past year is that despite many difficulties due to the Covid-19 epidemic, state budget revenue still exceeded the target, estimated at 640 billion VND, equaling 124.3 percent of the estimate assigned by the province and 118.5 percent of the district estimate strives. Can Giuoc district is also one of the four leading localities in the province in terms of collecting the state budget.

This result is not random but is formed from the tradition of solidarity in the entire Party as well as the leadership and administration of the Party committees and authorities, especially the Standing and Executive Committee of the District Party Committee in the direction of deep, dynamic, drastic, flexible, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility and active participation, the responsibility of all levels, branches, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, economic sectors and consensus among the people.

Arousing the potentials and strengths to make a breakthrough

In 2020, Can Giuoc district successfully organizes the XIIth Congress of District Party Committee, term 2020-2025, opening a promising new development path. With difficulties, Can Giuoc district has many potentialities and advantages on the new journey when it is adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City - the political, economic, cultural and social center of the South, located in the province's key economic region and especially Long An International Port and the interest in investing in transport infrastructure are increasingly synchronous and complete. These are good advantages for the district to develop and make a breakthrough.

Turning potentials and advantages into a driving force for socio-economic development, especially for the development of industry - trade - services was identified by the district at the beginning of the term. In particular, the district creates a solid step for the whole term, in addition to the socio-economic development targets, in 2021, the district will focus all its efforts on implementing a breakthrough program on land clearance, resettlement and stability to determine the lives of people in the land acquisition area in the period 2020-2025. It focuses on completing the work of compensation and site clearance to deploy projects with capital investment budget and ongoing business projects. It regularly inspects and urges enterprises to speed up the implementation of projects; at the same time, resolutely handles projects that are slow to be implemented, lasting for many years. The district also pledges to create all the most favorable conditions for businesses to operate and implement well link socio-economic development cooperation with districts bordering Ho Chi Minh City.

In 2021, the first year of implementing the National Assembly of the Party Committee at all levels for the term 2020-2025, towards the XIIIth National Congress of the Party Committee, the year of organizing the election of members to the XVth National Assembly and the People's Councils at all levels for the term 2021-2026. Therefore, the successful implementation of the Resolution of District Party Committee in 2021 is of very important significance, creating a step and a solid premise for the coming years. Making good use of the advantages and potentials on the basis of building great solidarity with the highest determination to bring the Resolution to life, the District Party Committee identifies the key task in 2021: “Focus on implementing, grasping thoroughly, concretizing the Resolution of Party Committee at all levels, building a clean and strong political system, strongly innovating the leadership mode and working style of the Party committees; improving the efficiency of the management and administration of the government in the direction of closely following the grassroots level, dynamically demonstrating the drasticity and timely solving difficulties and problems. The district promotes the strength of the great unity bloc all people, develops socio-economic at a higher speed compared to  2020 and ensures social security, national defense - security, fulfill the targets of the Resolution of the District Party Committee in 2021”./.
