Closure of Rach Dua segmental bridge in Can Giuoc District

On February 7, Long An Department of Transport conducted the closure ceremony of Rach Dua bridge's main span in Can Giuoc District.

The mentioned bridge is of the three ones belonging to the first constituent project of the road construction which brings the connection "Tan Lap - Long Hau -  National Highway (NH) 50- Long An Port". It starts at the Km12+263 range (neighboring the work package Tan Lap - Long Hau in Phuoc Lai commune); be closed by the Km12+763 range (neighboring the edge of invested PR 826D in Long Hau Commune). 

Rach Dua Bridge spans across the Rach Dua River, links Phuoc Lai and Long Hau communes in Can Giuoc District. It was ground-broken on February 2, 2020 and is scheduled to terminate on March 29, 2021.

Rach Dua Bridge is over 344 meters in length, 13.25 meters in width, with a navigational clearance of 30 meters in breadth and 6 meters in height. The bridge consists of 4 simple spans (with a length of 33 meters in total) and 3 spans made by continuous box-girders. Its construction is based on the Balanced Cantilever Method (55m+90m+55m). The main pier's foundation is placed on a bored pile foundation 120 centimeters in diameter and 43 meters in length. The path into the bridge between two abutments is 166.7 meters in length, polished asphalt pavement of 11.25 meters in width, and the roadbed with a 13-meter width.

The total contract value is 156.830 million VND, funded by the resources of government bonds, provincial budget, enterprises' mobilized capital, and other legal mobilized capital.

Rach Dua bridge along with work sections on the route of Tan Lap - Long Hau is completely constructed and will gradually put the traffic artery in perfect form which associates Long An Province - Ho Chi Minh City, unites industrial zones and clusters in Can Giuoc District area, fulfills transport demands for goods, attracts further investments and uplift Long An Port's functional benefits and enhance regional socio-economic and cultural development./.
