Provincial leaders survey investment progress of Long An International Port

Chairman of the board of Dong Tam Group, the investor of the project of Long An International Port - Vo Quoc Thang said that Long An International Port has an area of 147 hectares, built into 3 phases with a total capital of nearly 10,000 billion VND. The project includes many wharves that can accommodate vessels up to 70,000 tons with a total length from Wharf No.1 to the end of Wharf No.9 (2,100 meters); 7 barges; warehouse system, bonded warehouse; container yard and other ancillary works.

Particularly, the storage area at the port is 400,000 square meters, serving the needs of transporting and storing agricultural and aquatic goods of the Mekong Delta region. This is also a gateway for importers and exporters to gather goods and distribute by road, sea, or inland waterways.
The complex includes urban areas, seaport services and other utilities to meet all the needs of investors. Up to now, 3 wharves have been constructed (one with a tonnage of 50,000 tons and two with a tonnage of 30,000 tons) with a length of more than 630 meters. At present, the wharf No.4 is being built to accommodate vessels of over 70,000 tons. All items are being urgently deployed to build on schedule.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Nguyen Van Ut appreciated Dong Tam Group's determination in constructing the port. Currently, Long An is investing in building Provincial Road 830 connecting Long An International Port to districts and most industrial parks in the province. In addition, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project is under construction. When this route is completed, it will connect Long An Port into the center of the Mekong Delta and international connection.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ut proposed Dong Tam Group to build the port on schedule and focus on providing logistics package services such as international multimodal transport, forwarding, customs procedures. In the near future, Long An International Port will be one of the prominent places, creating a premise to accelerate the socio-economic development process for Long An province in particular and the Southern key economic region in general./.
