Since the beginning of the year, the provincial electricity sector has directed units to have plans and organize serious and complete implementation of a stable and continuous power supply and coordinate well in implementing investment projects and upgrading the power grid system in the area.

Since the beginning of 2025, the electricity sector has completed the energization and put into operation 9 110kV projects with a total investment of more than 537 billion VND. In addition, in 2025, the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) assigned the construction and major repair investment plan to Tay Ninh Power Company with a total capital of 1,190 billion VND, of which construction investment is 1,103 billion VND, major repair with 87 billion VND to carry out nearly 100 projects in the area.

The Thu Thua 110kV transformer station project (installed with T2 transformer with capacity of 63MVA) was energized and put into use in April 2025, increasing the total capacity of the station from 1x63MVA to 2x63MVA. The project has a total investment of 36 billion VND, equipped with a synchronous and modern equipment system according to international standards IEC, IEEE, ensuring technical requirements, safe and stable operation. The implementation items include installing additional 63MVA power transformers, constructing and fully equipping the 110kV transformer compartment, 110kV sectionalizing compartment, installing new 22kV side cabinets including main circuit breaker cabinets, measuring voltage transformer cabinets, capacitor banks and 5 circuit breaker cabinets; synchronizing the protection control system, SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), measuring, metering electricity and renovating the self-consumption power system and capacitor banks.

Representative of Hoa Binh Industrial Park Management Board Dang Trung Tin said increasing the capacity of Thu Thua 110kV transformer station will meet the power supply needs of surrounding industrial parks, including Hoa Binh Industrial Park to serve the production of secondary enterprises in the zone and create reliability and trust of customers in ensuring the stable operation of the power grid in the area.

Rushing to complete the projects

According to the plan, the 110kV Tam Vu 2 Station project and the connecting line will be completed in 2025. Although the initial phase of the project encountered many difficulties and problems related to site clearance, weather, etc., thanks to the drastic participation of functional sectors and localities, up to now, the basic problems have been overcome, and the units have focused on "sprinting" to complete the project on schedule.

The Tam Vu 2 110kV Station and connecting line are expected to be completed and energized in 2025

The project consists of two main components: a newly built transformer station with a capacity of 63MVA and a nearly 9km long line with 33 pillars; the total investment of the project is more than 203 billion VND. Currently, the construction unit has completed the foundation of 22 pillars, completed the erection of 17 steel pillars and is preparing to carry out the construction of the wire pulling of the pillars.

The representative of the construction unit of the 110kV Tam Vu 2 Station and the Vuong Dien connecting line said, "Currently, the project has handed over the entire site for implementation. We are focusing on human resources, working overtime, working on Saturdays and Sundays to make up for the time that was delayed due to problems and arising issues. The project has about 110 people working, of which about 50 people are working for the station and 60 people for the line, ensuring energization in 2025 as committed."

Deputy Director of Tay Ninh Electricity Company Nguyen Hoang Hai informed: "The completion, operation, and use of power projects is of great significance in the transmission and distribution of electricity, better meeting the electricity demand for daily life and production, creating a driving force to promote growth and sustainable socio-economic development of the locality, contributing to improving the quality of life of the people. It is expected that in the remaining months of 2025, the electricity sector will continue to energize and put into operation 6 more 110kV projects with a total investment of about 777 billion VND. In 2026, the sector  will continue to invest in 17 110kV projects with a total investment of more than 2,600 billion VND; 66 medium and low voltage projects with a temporary capital of about 1,000 billion VND./.
