Tan An city needs to be more drastic in site clearance for key projects

Up to now, the Standing Board of City Party Committee has focused on strictly leading, directing and implementing the conclusions of Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee at the meeting with the Standing Board of Tan An City Party Committee in October 2022. Currently, basic tasks were completed as directed. A number of contents are being implemented, monitored, in order to have suggestions to remove obstacles in the implementation process. Investments and projects implemented in the area are basically ensured the progress, clearly changing the appearance and urban landscape of the city.

Accordingly, on August 25, 2022, the City Party Committee issued Action Program No. 24 to implement Resolution No. 35 of the Provincial Standing Committee on the construction and development of Tan An city, period 2021-2030. Up to now, the works that have been focused on by sectors and units have basically achieved the set plan. In 2022, the city completed the provincial budget collection. In the first eight months of 2023, the city has collected 470 out of 797 billion VND, reaching 58.9% of the provincial estimate; etc.

Besides the achievements, the city still faces difficulties and limitations. The work of mobilizing resources to invest, build and develop the city, although increasing, but not meeting expectation. The progress of the works is still slow, the disbursement rate for capital construction is not high. Site clearance is still slow. In the implementation of some tasks, the time is still long, especially the contents of mechanisms and policies. Budget collection has not reached progress. Some criteria and standards of grade I urban centers of have not met the prescribed thresholds.

At the meeting, the delegates focused on discussing issues related to the low disbursement rate of provincial capital; urban construction planning; mover project groups for the city. In which, there is the pilot project to provide concrete for communes to complete rural transport infrastructure; project on mobilizing resources for site clearance of Ao Quan area embellishment; Project on ground clearance combined with investment in Hung Vuong Street - phase 2; etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut said that the meeting aimed to remove difficulties and obstacles for Tan An City to develop further. He requested, in the coming time, Tan An City will continue to urge and focus on budget collection and public investment disbursement; be more drastic in the site clearance of key projects; focus on resettlement projects to stabilize people's lives in land acquisition areas; planning, etc; prepare to ensure traffic clearance of the Ring Road of Tan An City - the key work of the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress at the end of 2023./.
