Tan Tru discovers and destroys more than one ton of pork meat infected ASF

Through investigation and monitoring, at about 13 o’clock on June 30, functional agency of Tan Tru district conducted a check at Cao Thi Huyen business household. At the time of the inspection, the functional force found a truck with plate No. 51C-732.68 carrying  about 500 kilos of pork to deliver to Ms. Huyen by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung. Through inspection on trucks and in the freezer of Ms. Huyen, there were 1,134 kilos of meat but only 600 kilos had quarantine certificates, the rest had unknown origin.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, he bought the above amount of meat in Binh Dien market, Ho Chi Minh city. The team took samples and sealed all of the meat.

By the afternoon of July 2, Division of Veterinary of Region VI announced that the results of the tested meat were positive for the ASF. According to the regulations on prevention and control of epidemics and to avoid the spread of epidemic, as soon as the results were reported, the functional force destroyed all of the above-mentioned pork at Tan Tru town landfill in the form of burning then burying.

In addition, the team also sprayed disinfectant at business households, frozen vehicles, sprayed lime powder around the disposal area in accordance with regulations. Tan Tru townlet People's Committee conducts spraying antiseptic in breeding households in the area of Binh Hoa hamlet to avoid spreading the diseases./.
