Tay Ninh: 18 industrial clusters equipped with centralised wastewater treatment systems

Environmental protection at industrial clusters across Tay Ninh Province has recently seen significant progress, particularly in the investment, construction, and operation of centralised wastewater treatment systems.

Functional agencies inspect a centralised wastewater treatment system

According to Tay Ninh Province’s Department of Agriculture and Environment, the province currently has 23 industrial clusters in operation. Among them, 18/18 clusters with investors have completed centralized wastewater treatment systems, meeting enterprises' treatment needs.

The remaining 5 industrial parks — Duc Hoa Dong (under renovation), Duc Hoa Ha (under renovation), Ben Keo, Hoa Hoi, and Ninh Dien—operate without infrastructure investors and have yet to build centralized wastewater treatment systems.

Although lacking centralized treatment facilities, wastewater from production facilities in these five clusters is treated on-site to meet the National Technical Regulation on Industrial Wastewater, Column A, before being discharged into the common drainage system. This reflects close coordination between production units and the authorities through regular inspection and oversight.

Until now, 11/23 clusters in the province have installed automatic, continuous wastewater monitoring systems, transmitting real-time data directly to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for oversight.

The system enables regulatory agencies to promptly detect irregularities, swiftly address violations, and enhance transparency in business operations.

Monitoring results show that most centralized wastewater treatment plants operate effectively, with treated water quality generally meeting standards before being released into the environment. The monitoring data offers a relatively accurate picture of production and waste treatment conditions at production facilities

Tay Ninh has identified the synchronous investment in centralized wastewater treatment systems across all industrial clusters as a priority task in environmental protection in the coming period.

Authorities will continue to support and guide businesses in completing infrastructure while intensifying inspection and supervision to ensure all wastewater is treated to standard before discharge—contributing to sustainable industrial development and reducing pollution./.
