Tay Ninh sets goal to rank among Vietnam’s top 10 provinces in the Provincial Green Index

According to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), in 2024, the former Tay Ninh Province scored 25.41 points in the Provincial Green Index (PGI), ranking 28th nationwide. Meanwhile, the former Long An Province scored 27.56 points, placing 6th in the country.

Improving the investment and business environment, promoting green growth, and ensuring sustainable development have been identified as key goals for Tay Ninh in 2025.

The provincial People’s Committee has set a target to raise awareness and accountability among government levels, sectors, localities, and the business community — aiming to bring Tay Ninh’s PGI into the top 10 provinces nationwide.

To achieve this, the province has introduced several solution groups, including pollution reduction and climate change adaptation. Key actions include investing in flood and landslide prevention infrastructure, promoting green transport, expanding tree planting, and enhancing monitoring of air and surface water quality.

Environmental standards will be strictly enforced. Authorities will tighten inspections of facilities at risk of pollution, promote waste sorting at source, attract investment in waste treatment plants, and implement urban wastewater treatment projects.

In addition, the province will strengthen the leadership role of local authorities; boost communications and provide guidance to help businesses “go green” in production; encourage the use of renewable energy and environmentally friendly technologies; and implement incentive policies to support businesses. Tay Ninh also plans to promote investment in renewable energy, expand access to green credit, reform administrative procedures, and create a more favorable environment for sustainable business growth.

By implementing these coordinated measures, Tay Ninh expects to significantly improve its investment climate, attract green projects, support sustainable socio-economic development, and enhance the quality of life for its people./.
