The trip aims to study and exchange experiences of agricultural and rural models associated with cultural development in Son La province. On the morning of November 26, Vice Chairwoman of Son La People's Council - Nham Thi Phuong, Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee - Lo Minh Hung welcomed the delegation.

At the meeting, representatives of leaders, departments and sectors of the two provinces exchanged the situation of economic, cultural and social development. According to the Vice Chairman of Son La People's Committee - Lo Minh Hung, in 2019, Son La province is determined to be a breakthrough year, completing the province's 5-year socio-economic development plan. Rural urban economic development has prospered in various fields; culture - society has made positive changes, material and spiritual life of the people has been gradually improved.

Especially, in terms of agricultural economic development, Son La thrives on fruit trees. The total area of fruit trees and medlar trees in the province is 70,240 hectares, the fruit output in 2019 is estimated at 23,7130 tons, compared with 2016 the area increased 197.97 percent, the output increased 135.5 percent.

Presently, the whole province has 529 cooperatives and 124 supply chains of consuming safe agricultural and aquatic products; 18 products bearing the province's geographical name are granted protection by the National Office of Intellectual Property and 1 product is granted a foreign protection certificate (tea products of Shan tuyet Moc Chau are granted a protection certificate in Thailand); supporting businesses and cooperatives to build 9 major product brands and registering protection certificate in China for 2 products of Son La mangoes and Son La longan.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can highly appreciated Son La's achievements in recent years. He said that Long An would like to learn about agriculture and rural areas and manage tourism exploitation in Son La, especially the program of developing high-tech applications and linking consumption in Son La province.

On the same day, the delegation offered incense at the Monument of Uncle Ho with the Northwestern people and the Memorial House of Martyr Heroes; visited the special National Monument - Son La Prison and Library of Son La province.
