In the 2016-2023 term, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association has many diverse and practical activities in the field of people-to-people diplomacy, strengthening the cooperation between the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association and other partners in Russia, the mutual understanding between the people of the two countries; preserving and strengthening traditional friendship relations, deepening the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russian. The Association promotes its role in connecting relationships between businesses, schools, and localities of the two countries to seek markets, cooperate in education - training, tourism, and cultural exchange.

The Association organizes a number of outstanding activities such as: organizing national conferences of the Association alternately in localities; coordinating with the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association and a number of organizations in the two countries to organize painting competitions; translating from Russian into Vietnamese and publishing a number of books such as "Russians talk about President Ho Chi Minh", books about the role of people's diplomacy in developing relations between Vietnam and the Russia.

According to Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association - Trinh Quoc Khanh, for the 2023-2028 term, the Association will develop specific activity programs to enhance exchanges between the young generation, creating conditions for youngs to proactively promote and inherit the pure and good relationship between the two countries. The Association will also develop a source of young members from schools with Russian language training programs, localities with relationships, joint venture establishments between Vietnam and the Russia, and the Vietnamese community living and working in Russia.

Strengthening friendships with old partners, building and expanding friendships with new partners in the Russia to create a diverse network of friends and partners; Taking full advantage of the support, coordination and cooperation from the organizations of Russia to expand international relations and advocacy, focusing on young people, the press, scholars and businessmen, etc, therby making an important contribution to implementing the Party and State's foreign policy, consolidating the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries./.
