The statement was made by Nguyen Quoc Toan, acting head of the Farm Produce Processing and Market Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, at the opening ceremony of the third Vietnamese Rice Festival in Long An province.

The focus of the logo is stylized rice ear picturing Lac Viet bird, the symbol of Vietnam known in the world. The elllipsed outline of the logo is the shape of rice and the earth, meaning Vietnamese rice has reached high quality and prestige in the world.

The introduction of the logo plays a significant role to the rice industry, greatly assisting advertisement and market development for Vietnamese rice in the global market./.
