Long An hosts 3rd Rice Festival

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Long An Provincial People's Committee on December 18 jointly held the 3rd Rice Festival in Long An province’s Tan An city.

At the festival

The event, lasting until December 24, comprises 1,058 display booths from 612 localities and organizations. The event aims to introduce, promote the potential and strength of Long An and the Mekong Delta as well as support businesses in agricultural production. The festival is a chance for localities and enterprises to promote their products, exchange experience, seek cooperation opportunities and partners. It also advertises agricultural products of the Mekong Delta region.

The 3rd Rice Festival themed "Agriculture, farmers, sustainable rural development; the Vietnamese prioritize consumption of Vietnamese products” is a political, economic, cultural, social and tourist event.

The event aims at promoting Vietnamese rice’s brand name as well as honoring organizations, individuals, businesses, scientists and farmers who contribute to the economic achievements of the Mekong Delta, said the Vice President of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association - Luong Nhan Doan.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced the logo of Vietnam Rice’s brand name, an important condition to identify Vietnamese rice.

In addition, the festival also has many competitions and seminars on clean rice, climate change and challenges for the development of Vietnamese rice./.
