92 livestock facilities Tay Ninh granted disease-free certification

Tay Ninh’s livestock sector has marked a significant milestone in disease prevention and control, with 92 facilities certified as disease-free. This achievement not only enhances the value of local livestock products and safeguards public health but also broadens market access both domestically and internationally.

Farmers regularly clean and disinfect livestock barns
According to the Sub-Department of Agriculture (Tay Ninh’s Department of Agriculture and Environment), disease-free facilities are appraised and reappraised regularly, in line with the plan and closely aligned with farmers' actual needs.

This ensures livestock facilities maintain high standards of hygiene and biosecurity, in compliance with prescribed disease prevention regulations.

Currently, the province has 92 facilities certified as disease-free. Of these, 73 are poultry facilities, including 44 chicken farms certified free from H5N1 avian influenza and Newcastle disease, 24 chicken farms together with 5 duck farms certified free from H5N1 avian influenza.

Those are dangerous diseases, capable of spreading rapidly and inflicting severe losses on production if not kept under strict control.

In the pig farming sector, Tay Ninh has 18 certified facilities — 14 meeting safety standards for foot-and-mouth disease, classical swine fever, and African swine fever; three certified for these diseases plus blue ear disease; and one certified solely for African swine fever.

The province also has one cattle farm certified disease-free for foot-and-mouth disease, brucellosis, and tuberculosis — illnesses that can severely impact herd health and livestock productivity.

According to industry officials, expanding the network of disease-free facilities strengthens disease control and enhances the quality and value of livestock products

This also creates favourable conditions for Tay Ninh’s livestock products to meet export standards, expand the consumption market, and contribute to ensuring food safety and protecting public health./.
