Supporting output for agricultural products
Currently, the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic is very complicated, many localities have implemented social distancing according to Directive 16/CT-TTg of the PM, so trade has been somewhat affected. Accordingly, agricultural products face difficulties in consumption. However, the agricultural production in the province remains stable. Farmers actively produce in the hope that the epidemic will soon be repelled, agricultural product prices will increase again, trade activities will be smooth.
In addition to applying social distancing measures under Directive 16 to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, for more than a week now, all levels and branches in Thanh Hoa district have also found solutions to help farmers consume agricultural products. Through controlled inter-provincial consumption channels, the district actively connects to consume such products as yams, lemons, pineapples, etc. Mr. Le Van Phuong (Thuan Binh commune, Thanh Hoa district) is about to harvest 2 hectares lemon. He shared: “Due to the epidemic, most traders refused to buy the products because of difficult transportation. I asked for the support of the District Division of Agriculture and Rural Development, hoping to find a place to consume lemons soon”.
Farmers maintain production while preventing and fighting epidemics
Head of the Thanh Hoa Division of Agriculture and Rural Development - Nguyen Kinh Kha said: “Difficulty in the consumption of agricultural products is the general situation of the local agriculture sector. However, in order to ensure life and maintain production in the context of complicated epidemics, the district is trying to connect with consumption channels inside and outside the province to find output for agricultural products. Initially, Bach Hoa Xanh and San Ha stores in the district agreed to support the consumption of agricultural products for people.
Farmers in Tan Tru district are also actively producing. In the past few days, Mr. Bui Van Dung (Binh Hoa hamlet, Binh Trinh Dong commune) regularly takes care of the dragon fruit garden. He said: "Although the output of dragon fruit is facing difficulties due to the epidemic, I believe that, with the drastic direction and strong implementation of prevention and control measures of all levels and sectors, this epidemic will quickly pass, the prices of agricultural products will be more stable”.
Strictly implementing epidemic prevention and control measures
Although farmers are active in production, farmers still do not forget to prevent and control diseases. Mr. Nguyen Van The (Vinh Tri commune, Vinh Hung district) said that in recent days, the mass media and local authorities have continuously propagated to people to practice social distancing according to Directive 16 to ask people not to go out when it is not really necessary to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, so farmers strictly abide by the regulations and maintain production.
“In order to ensure the health of ourselves, our family and society, when going from home to the field and during the working process, we all comply with the regulations and recommendations of the Government, the Ministry of Health, wear face masks, do not gather in crowds, etc. to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic"- Mr. The added.
In Moc Hoa district, many areas of summer-autumn rice are in the harvesting stage. Mr. Tran Van Chien (Tan Thanh commune, Moc Hoa district) shared: "Rice is ripe, but due to the influence of epedemic, harvesting is difficult. I live in Tan Thanh commune, the rice field is in Tan Lap commune, so I have to get a certificate from the Commune People's Committee to pass the quarantine checkpoints".
Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Thanh Commune, Moc Hoa District - Vo Van Hien informed: "Due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, epidemic prevention and control measures in the commune are being tightened according to Directive 16 of the PM. Many rice areas in the commune and neighboring localities are entering the harvesting stage, which is expected to be finished in 10-20 days, so during this time, the locality also supports the issuance of certificates for farmers. Farmers can move back and forth between neighboring communes to harvest rice.
Carrying out the "dual tasks" of both fighting the epidemic and developing the economy, the provincial agriculture sector recommends that farmers in the area, in addition to maintaining production to ensure food security, they should pay attention to crop conversion, livestock in accordance with the needs of the consumer market, associated with applying scientific advances to production to increase productivity, quality and improve economic life./.
