Young people of the two countries exchange cultures, exchange and learn from experience

Many social security activities

In order to tighten the solidarity and friendship between the two countries, the Provincial Youth Union regularly organizes visits, presents gifts, medical examinations, free medicine delivery, and gives friendship houses to poor households; donates learning tools, bicycles and playgrounds to poor Cambodian students.

In the 2016-2018 period, the Provincial Youth Union instructed its affiliated units to propagate and disseminate the policies and contents of the agreement between Long An, Svay Rieng and Prey Veng provinces to all levels of the Youth Union and members of Youth Union in the province, especially the localities having borders with Cambodia such as Duc Hue, Tan Hung, Vinh Hung, Moc Hoa, Thanh Hoa districts and Kien Tuong town. The Youth Union institutions coordinated with relevant industries to organize 20 exchange activities including the border beauty contest, cultural exchange, physical training - sports, and so on with the participation of 7,961 members of Youth Union and the people of the two countries.

Free medical examination and medicine delivery to people

In 2017 and 2018, the Provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Association of Cambodian Youth Union of Svay Rieng province to organize many social security activities for the people of the communes of Pres (Chanh T'ria district), Pro Sot, Svay Rumpea, Prey Ta Ay (Svay Teap district) with a total budget of more than 350 million VND. In 2018 only, the Provincial Youth Union provided free medical examination and medicine and gave gifts to 200 people; donated 10 bicycles, 1,000 notebooks and 50 helmets to students; donated 1 friendship house worth 50 million VND to volunteers in difficult circumstances.

Head of the General Organization Department of the Provincial Youth Union - Pham Van Hau shared: “Through my participation in social security work in your country, I feel that the people here are very friendly and enthusiastic. The remote and isolated areas of the two provinces of Svay Rieng and Prey Veng still have many difficult circumstances, so these volunteer programs are very meaningful and partly shared with the people of your country”.

Bicycles are given to students in difficult circumstances

According to the Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Association of Long An - Vo Tran Tuan Thanh, the Association plans and mobilizes funds to organize volunteer trips in two neighboring provinces of Svay Rieng and Prey Veng every year. In 2019, the Association has mobilized more than 250 million VND for social security work in your country; donated 10 bicycles, 1,000 notebooks and 50 helmets; 50 water bottles for students; free medical examination and medicine distribution and gifts to 300 people; donated 1 children's playground to the primary school worth 20 million VND and organized activities for children to exchange culture - arts between the two countries.

Building a playground for children

In 2020, the Vietnam Youth Association of Long An awarded 6,000 antibacterial fabric masks, 1,000 liters of antiseptic solution and essentials to support Covid-19 epidemic prevention, and so on with a total value of over 120 million VND to the Federation of Cambodian Youth in Svay Rieng province and Prey Veng at Binh Hiep International Border Gate. This support helps the Federation of Youth of 2 provinces of Svay Rieng and Prey Veng to have more conditions for disease prevention and control, to stabilize the situation early, to continue developing socio-economic and improve people's lives.

Understanding more about the two-side culture

In order to enhance exchange, study and introduce economic development models of natural resources, the Vietnam Youth Association of Long An also cooperates with Long Thanh Cooperative in Thu Thua District to organize the transfer of freshwater aquaculture model to the provincial Youth Union of Svay Rieng. Experts participating in the model are supported with breeds, techniques, food and output for products. Currently, the models are operating stably, initially bringing efficiency, contributing to creating income sources and improving life for the youth.

Physical exercise – sports exchange

Deputy Secretary of the Ben Luc District Youth Union - Huynh Trong Thanh said: “To learn more about the history and culture of the country, the Federation Cambodian Youth and the Vietnam Youth Association of Long An province have facilitated us to pay a visit and offer incense the People's Armed Forces hero status Nguyen Van Ngo in Svay Rieng province. We are very touched and proud of the young hero of Long An homeland. In addition, we also visited the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Monument, Victory Monument in Phnom Penh and the Royal Palace of Cambodia to learn more unique cultural features of your country".

The cooperative and friendship between Long An and Cambodia's localities have always been nurtured and developed by the people and the people of both sides. Over the past time, the province has also received a lot of attention from Cambodia through cultural - cultural, physical training and sports visits. This is an opportunity for Long An Youth to introduce our homeland culture as well as show his hospitality to neighboring friends.

The friendship relationship between Long An, Svay Rieng and Prey Veng has been constantly strengthened and developed, it contributes to building a peaceful and stable border between Long An and Svay Rieng, Prey Veng in particular and 2 people of Vietnamese - Cambodian in general./.
