The delegates depart to visit sodiers and people of Truong Sa island district and DK1 marine defence platform

Together with the delegation of Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Kon Tum provinces as well as the Central, local and business delegations, the delegation of Long An province including 20 members led by the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Nguyen Van Duoc started on the fishing supervisory ship No.290 to visit soldiers and people in Truong Sa island district and DK1 marine defence platform.

Prior to the departure, the delegates offered incense and paid tribute to heroic martyrs of the no-number ship.

According to the plan, the delegation will participate in the flag ceremony and the cultural exchange program on the island, visit the monument of martyrs and pagodas, give gifts to soldiers and people on the island as well as soldiers of DK1 marine defence platform, etc.

The 9-day journey is expected to pass nearly 1,200 nautical miles, equivalent to 2,200 kilometers. The delegation will visit soldiers and people on Sinh Ton Dong, Len Dao, Tien Nu, Nui Le B, Thuyen Chai B, An Bang, Dat Lat, Truong Sa islands and DK1/Phuc Nguyen marine defence platform.

According to the Head of delegation No.10 - Rear Admiral Luong Viet Hung, the trip aims to timely encourage soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district and DK1 marine defence platform to overcome difficulties, contributing to the effective protection of the sovereignty of the sea, islands and continental shelves of the motherland.

This activity also raises the awareness of officials, party members and people on the sovereignty of the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos. On top of that, it places heavy emphasis on the protection of the sovereignty of islands and  continental shelves as well as the significance of national construction and defense in the new period.
