As of 6p.m. on August 26, the whole province of Long An recorded 20,466 Covid-19 cases, 13,376 cases have been cured, 244 deaths. Currently, the province has 5,475 F0 cases being treated, 2,340 F1 are in concentrated isolation, 3,592 F2 are in isolation at home. During the implementation of Directive 16, the province also strengthens testing, screening and classification for treating F0, isolating F1, F2 and vaccination. Up to now, the province has had 569,450 people vaccinated with the first shots, accounting for 42 percent of the population over 18 years old, 43,569 people receiving the second shots, accounting for 3 percent of the population over 18 years old.

At the meeting with Deputy PM - Vu Duc Dam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Long An Province - Nguyen Van Duoc also presented and suggested the Government support the province to buy 500,000 rapid antigen tests and 700,000 PCR tests to serve the large-scale screening.
In addition, the province also asked the Ministry of Health to support more personnel with medical expertise to help the province perform well in the treatment of Covid-19, specifically 36 emergency care doctors, 424 emergency doctors, 424 doctors specializing in respiration, emergency, infectious diseases, cardiology and neuroendocrinology. At the same time, the province also applied for a budget of 1,437 billion VND for epidemic prevention and control. Currently, Long An province is investing in 13 field hospitals with a scale of 10,300 beds, with a total cost of nearly 58 billion VND.
