Developing tourism to educate about traditions and cultivate love for homeland
On November 14, People's Committee of Long An province organized a conference on tourism development with the theme of Promoting the value of historical and cultural relics associated with tourism development. Attending the conference were Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc; Head of Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department - Hoang Dinh Can; Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa.

As of October 2023, Long An has 125 historical - cultural relics, 3 historical cultural destinations, including 21 national relics and 104 provincial relics. On the basis of exploiting and promoting cultural heritage values, Long An tourism has been forming and developing many cultural tourism products. Investment in historical sites to attract tourists is of particular forcused, however, the effectiveness is still not high.
At the conference, delegates discussed solutions to promote the traditional cultural and historical values of Long An as well as dialogue to remove difficulties and obstacles of tourism service businesses in the province recently.
Representatives of tourism businesses in the province had the opportunity to present difficulties and obstacles in the tourism development process: Land policy, land tax, people not interested in tourism in the province, etc. Among them, traffic is one of the biggest difficulties mentioned by businesses. The representative of the Provincial Tourism Association requested support and connection of travel businesses in the association with schools in the province with a commitment to providing the best price and quality for tourism services in the province.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc affirmed that tourism is a smokeless industry with the potential to bring many great socio-economic benefits to localities. However, the province's tourism activities still have some difficulties and limitations.
He suggested that localities need to create the most favorable conditions for investors and businesses to develop tourism. The Department of Education and Training, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and localities need to coordinate to promote tourism development, in order to create conditions for Long An students to travel to tourist destinations in the province to educate revolutionary traditions and cultivating love for the homeland.

Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct departments and branches to resolve the difficulties that businesses mentioned in the conference.
At the conference, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a joint agreement with the Department of Education and Training and the Provincial Youth Union to coordinate in the work of preserving, restoring and promoting the value of historical and cultural relics in the province in the period 2023 - 2025./.
