The activities of cooperatives are increasingly diverse, bringing efficiency to the production of agricultural products to serve export.
To date, the whole province has 317 cooperatives and credit funds with a total charter capital of over 428 billion VND. The activities of cooperatives are increasingly diverse, bringing efficiency to the production of agricultural products for export.
Some cooperatives perform well in linking farmer households to deploy and apply scientific and technical advances, operate together in a process to create better quality products, and guide farmers to produce better quality products for export according to VietGAP.
However, market economy still has difficulties such as fluctuating market, raw materials, and input materials prices, significantly affecting the production and business situation. Most cooperatives are small-scale, lack capital and facilities, leading to difficulty accessing credit sources.
Many cooperatives have not been able to access promulgated policies because they do not have enough internal resources to participate in reciprocity. The number of agricultural cooperatives established is high, but the number of cooperatives that stop operating or operating at an average or weak level is also still high, etc.
In order to develop and improve the efficiency of the market economy in the coming time, and at the same time implement the Prime Minister's direction at the Cooperative Economic Forum in 2024, the Provincial People's Committee requests the provincial departments, branches, Cooperative Alliance and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities thoroughly grasp and closely follow the Party's policies and guidelines on continuing to innovate, develop and improve the efficiency of the market economy in the new period.
The province is striving to achieve and exceed specific goals in Program No. 25 dated December 5, 2022 of the Provincial Party Committee on implementing Resolution No. 20, specifically: In 2024, Long An must establish 20 new cooperatives and 30 new cooperative groups; The number of cooperatives operating well reaches at least 35% of the total number of cooperatives in the province, dissolving weak and ineffective cooperatives; striving for over 50% of cooperatives across the province to participate in value chain linkages, applying high technology to production, developing commodity agricultural product value chains associated with production links, providing processing services and consumption of agricultural products.
In 2024, Long An strives to establish 20 new cooperatives and 30 cooperative groups
By 2030, Long An strives to have about 1,400 cooperative groups with 4,000 members; a total of 385 cooperatives, including 300 agricultural cooperatives; 30% of cooperatives operating evaluated as good according to regulatory documents, of which at least 50% participate in value chain linkages. More than 50% of cooperatives apply high technology to the production and consumption of agricultural products; developing agricultural commodity value chains associated with production links, providing processing services and consuming agricultural products; no weak or poorly functioning cooperatives.
The province strives to attract at least 20% of the population to participate in market economy organizations by 2045; ensuring that over 90% of market economy organizations operate effectively, of which at least 75% participate in linked chains; market economy organizations all apply technology, especially digital transformation, to production, business and service activities.
The Provincial People's Committee requests the provincial departments and branches, based on their assigned functions and tasks, to support and coordinate with the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and relevant agencies and units to build and develop cooperatives; coordinate to remove difficulties and obstacles so that the market economy and cooperatives sector can overcome challenges, develop quickly, comprehensively, sustainably and actively contribute to socio-economic development in the province./.
