Eight new songs for children rewarded

On November 18, the Provincial Council for Ho Chi Minh Children’s Organization coordinated the Association of Literature and Arts, Long An Children's House to organize the summary of Children's Song-composing Competition 2018.

After more than one year of launching, the Children's Song-composing Competition 2018 attracted the participation of 19 authors who are individuals, organizations, literary artists inside and outside the province with 46 works.

The content of the songs reflects the life, aspirations and dreams of children for their homeland, schools, grandparents, parents, teachers, friends, and so on especially for our beloved Uncle Ho, the concern of the Party, Youth Unions, Youth and Children’s Organization. 

Closing the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 8 songs of 7 best authors for composing children's songs, including 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 3 consolation prizes. Two second prizes belonged to 2 authors: Diep Vam Co (Ward 2, Tan An city) with the work “Dang sau vien phan trang” (Behind the white chalk); Nguyen Quoc Phong (from Long An Music Association) with a work “Quy hon bac vang” (More precious than gold).

According to the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairwoman of the Provincial Council for Ho Chi Minh Children’s Organization - Le Thi Cam Tu, the contest aims to foster children who love their homeland, the country and their national pride; their infinite gratitude to former generations sacrificed for cause of national construction and defense.

At the same time, this is also an opportunity for all levels, sectors and artists to learn, exchange experiences from each other, continue to care and compose many new songs for the children./.
