Examining the construction of provincial typical cooperative model at Hung Phu Agricultural Cooperative

Delegates discuss to produce organic rice 

Over the past time, Hung Phu AC has continuously developed and received support from the province and the district: Supporting to set up the projects for production development linked value chain, linking production with consumption of products; supporting the model of high-tech applied rice production in the organic direction; participating in the Vietnam Sustainable Agriculture Transformation (VnSAT) project; upgrading on-farm canals and ditches; straw roller machines, pumping tanks, and so on.

Director of Hung Phu AC - Luu Van Hoai said: "Currently, the cooperative has 86 members with an area of 511 hectares, producing 5 main rice varieties which are ST 24, VD 20, sticky rice, 4900, Dai Thom 8. Over the past time, the cooperative built 50 hectares of high-tech applied rice in the organic direction, average profit is higher than 2-3 million VND per hectare. However, cooperative also faces such many difficulties that the organic rice output is still difficult; there is no cooperative store for product introduction; the fund source for expanding on-farm canals and ditches, making dams and putting sewers to keep water for pumping stations is still limited, etc.”.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Canh directed relevant departments and agencies to facilitate and support Hung Phu AC to continue developing effectively.

At the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Canh asked: "The concerned departments and agencies cooperate with local authorities to facilitate and support Hung Phu AC to continue developing effectively and become the provincial typical rice production cooperative. In 2019, the Management Board of Hung Phu AC continues maintaining rice production in the organic direction; model of high-tech applied rice produced by VietGAP with an area of 50 hectares; continue implementing the project for production development linking the chain of product consumption over 200 hectares; create trust for people and promote organic rice brands to consumers; deploy the sub-project invested by VnSAT project with the amount of USD 400,000; continue to upgrade the rural roads, canals and roads supported by the province./.
