Fruit Innovation Day Workshop

Delegates attends the 2023 Fruit Innovation Day Workshop in Long An

The workshop is within the framework of the project to improve the quality of fruit in Vietnam, organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, Netherlands - Vietnam Health Commission and partners in Vietnam. The project is implemented in 4 provinces: Long An, Ben Tre, Dong Thap and Binh Thuan with the goal of transferring production techniques, science - technology and accessing the fruit export market.

In Long An, through a field survey, the Project Management Board selected 1 dragon fruit farmer household in An Luc Long commune, Chau Thanh district to implement the project and invited 25 dragon fruit farmers to approach new farming methods. After nearly a year of implementation, the project has brought farmers a lot of useful knowledge and necessary techniques on management of dragon fruit growing according to the process.

Chairman of Long An Vietnam Farmers' Union - Le Van Hung said, the workshop is an opportunity for farmers to exchange knowledge and experience in production and promote the benefits of the project brings to farmers growing dragon fruits in the province. At the same time, it strengthens the relationship and cooperation between producers and partners, input material suppliers, enterprises and cooperatives that have export experience.

At the workshop, scientists, experts and farmer delegates focused on discussing and exchanging contents on development orientation of dragon fruit industry in the province; the current situation and opportunities to expand the market and raise the value of dragon fruit; market development; improve storage and logistics processes;etc.

It is known that through the workshop, the Project Management Board, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Long An Vietnam Farmers' Union agreed to select the appropriate contents to propose to relevant professional sectors, thereby, proposing better solutions, mechanisms and policies for the agricultural sector, especially for dragon fruit./.
