Information to the delegation, Deputy Director of Thai Nguyen Central Hospital - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Hong Thai said, the Center's treatment area currently has 150 ICU beds, divided into 3 levels according to the guidance of the Ministry of Health. The first level has 10 beds for patients about to leave hospital; the 2nd level has 90 beds for seriously ill patients; 3rd level has 50 ICU beds. The center is equipped with 1 ECMO machine; continuous dialysis machine and 35 ventilators; it is proposing 50 more ventilators and 105 HFNC machines. Medicines and basic consumables meet the requirements.
However, the Center wishes to add more sterilizers, provide more antiviral drugs, and human resources because the number of cases will continue to increase. At the same time, it is proposed that Long An province allocates more volunteers to support the cleaning of the surroundings at the Center.
In addition, Deputy Director of the Center - BS.CCII Le Hung Vuong said that the Central Covid-19 Resuscitation Center is one of the important centers set up by the Ministry of Health. After 5 days of operation, the center has 41 patients under active treatment and about 10 patients have changed from very severe to mild. It is forecasted that in the coming days, the number of patients with Covid-19 being transferred will increase, the amount of oxygen must be used a lot, so the unit will have a plan to reserve and minimize the breakdown of oxygen for the best treatment for cases according to the instructions and requirements of the Ministry of Health in the near future.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Ngoc Khue, Long An province has a high number of infections, so the Ministry of Health has paid close attention to set up this Center. Doctors and nurses from Thai Nguyen overcame difficulties and made great efforts to care for and treat patients in Long An.
He asked the Long An Department of Health to urgently call for support for human resources to clean the outside. Long An's health sector focuses on treating according to the protocol of the Ministry of Health on the 1st and 2nd levels. In particular, it is necessary to use the right anticoagulant and anti-inflammatory drugs; prepare enough oxygen to respond immediately when the patient has changes, need to support breathing; District hospitals also have to prepare oxygen because this is a vital factor for the treatment of Covid-19 patients, etc./.
