Central Covid-19 Resuscitation Center officially works

The Intensive Resuscitation Center for Covid-19 patients is located at 139 Nguyen Thai Binh, Ward 3, Tan An City, with a scale of 150 beds, is the last line in the treatment level for Covid-19 patients in Long An province and neighboring provinces. The center has the function of organizing the reception, emergency and treatment of severe and critical Covid-19 patients. In addition, it directs, guides and provides professional and technical support in emergency, intensive resuscitation and treatment for Covid-19 patients at facilities that receive, treat and care for Covid-19 patients in the assigned areas.

The center has invested in installing 150 new HFNC high-flow oxygen ventilators and some modern medical machines and equipment for treating and rescuing Covid patients such as ECMO machines, infusion machines, blood dialysis machines, patient-monitoring machines, etc. The treatment subdivision and the buffer chambers meet one-way standard.

Just within10 days, the Covid-19 Intensive Resuscitation Center was inaugurated and officially put into operation, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – Nguyen Van Ut highly appreciated and praised the design units, construction units and staff  have worked day and night to complete the project on schedule. At the same time, he would like to thank the timely support of the Ministry of Health and express his deep gratitude to the delegation of Thai Nguyen province as well as the medical staff and doctors of Long An province who will work directly at the Center. 

Mr. Nguyen Van Ut also suggested that the Provincial Steering Committee and the Health sector of Long An province regularly monitor, support and coordinate closely with the Center to ensure logistics and fully equipped medical equipment and necessary conditions for the Center to operate in the most convenient and effective way. In particular, the operation process should strictly adhere to the principle of "unified direction" to ensure fair and equitable transfer and treatment of critically ill patients.

Director of Thai Nguyen Central Hospital cum Director of the Central Covid-19 Resuscitation Center in Long An - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Cong Hoang informed that since Minister of Health issued the decision on establishing the Central Covid-19 Resuscitation Center in Long An, he directly directed the delegation to coordinate with Long An province to implement the initial basic facilities; At the same time, he made organizational decisions, appointed nearly 150 nurses, doctors, professors, respiratory, infectious and laboratory experts to work here. We had an independent work force like a hospital from medicine, blood, infusion, consumable medical supplies, chemicals, biological products. The force was divided into faculties; appointed the heads of clinical and subclinical departments; organized 3 shifts, 4 crews  woking all day and night. Currently, after 3 days, the Center has completed the installation of equipment; From now on, patients can be admitted to treatment.

Thanks to the active support from the Central Committee and Thai Nguyen province's medical staff, the operation of the Covid-19 Intensive Resuscitation Center will be an important milestone in fighting against the epidemic in Long An province. With a system of modern medical equipment, a team of skilled and experienced doctors and medical staff will improve the efficiency of treating Covid-19 patients, reducing the mortality rate, and contributing to to control and repel the Covid-19 epidemic in Long An province step by step./.
