Long An Bank for Social Policies: Difficulties overcome to successfully complete targets and tasks in 2021

In 2021, despite facing many difficulties and challenges due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the Provincial Bank for Social Policies has well coordinated with all levels, sectors, mass organizations to successfully complete the set targets and plans. 

Specifically, the total capital as of December 31, 2021 reached over 4,053 billion VND, (up 11.12 percent) compared to the same period in 2020, of which the central capital was more than 3,783 billion VND, accounting for 93.33 percent of the total capital; local capital reached over 270 billion VND, accounting for 6.67 percent of total loan capital.

Total loan sales reached over 1,154 billion VND, equaling 102 percent compared to 2020, with 33,730 loans from customers, focusing on lending programs such as clean water and sanitation in rural areas and poor households, near-poor, etc.

Through social policy credit, contributing to nearly 5,200 poor and near-poor households to rise out of poverty and return capital; create jobs and maintain and expand jobs for 12,647 employees; support 1,859 students, students who have conditions to continue going to school, etc.

In 2022, the Bank for Social Policies set a number of targets such as completing 100 percent of the plan to grow outstanding loans, mobilize capital assigned by the central government; the local trust capital has grown to meet and exceed the assigned targets; ratio of total overdue debt and frozen debt does not exceed 0.25 percent per total outstanding balance; the quality of commune transaction activities, policy credit activities at the provincial level and 15 out of 15 district-level units ranked as good, etc.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa acknowledged and praised the Bank for Social Policy's excellent efforts to overcome difficulties in 2021 in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic affecting the industry's operations.

At the same time, he suggested the Provincial Bank for Social Policies to quickly and promptly advise the Board of Directors of the Provincial Bank for Social Policies on the policy programs implemented by the Central Government in order to promptly bring the policy to the people as soon as possible; suggest that the Board of Directors of the Bank for Social Policies at all levels, in the course of performing their tasks, have any problems to report immediately to the Party Committee for a timely solution; continue to pay attention to reviewing the object, publicity and transparency, etc.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development presented a certificate of merit to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa for his outstanding achievements in implementing the National Strategy on rural clean water supply and sanitation in the period 2014 - 2020.

At the same time, the Bank for Social Policies also awarded many certificates of merit to individuals and groups for their outstanding achievements in the activities of the Social Policy Bank in 2021./.
