In the first 6 months of 2024, all levels of Trade Unions in the province have focused on concretizing the Trade Union Work Program with the theme "Focus on bringing resolutions of Trade Union Congresses at all levels to life; emulate achievements to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Trade Union". Thanks to that, union activities have many innovations, bringing practical results to well perform the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.

Many activites were organized such as supporting employees, workers, officials, and laborers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Dragon 2024, Workers Month and the Month of Action on Labor Safety and Hygiene. In particular, many programs and activities created highlights and spread widely throughout society.

Accordingly, during the Lunar New Year, unions at all levels supported 270,317 members and employees with a total amount of nearly 126 billion VND. In January 2024 alone, the Provincial Labor Confederation presented nearly 1,500 gifts to employees and staff; directed grassroot Trade Unions to support members and employees with a total amount of nearly 5.4 billion VND.

In addition, the Provincial Labor Confederation also launched emulation movements, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere among union members and employees, especially the peak emulation round to develop union members and establish grassroots unions on the occasion of Workers Month. Trade Union at all levels registered to carry out more than 1,000 projects and tasks and organized 350 emulation projects to mark the occasion of the Workers Month and the 95th Anniversary of the Establishment of Vietnamese Trade Union.

Up to this point, implementing the targets of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Provincial Confederation of Labor has 6/19 targets reaching 100% or more, most of the remaining targets reaching over 50%.

The conference consulted on two draft proposals: Approval of the Project to establish the Center for Legal Consulting and Support for Labor Unions in Long An province; Supporting to build Community Shelters for members in difficult housing situations.

Chairman of the Provincial Confederation of Labor - Nguyen Van Qui requested that all levels of Trade Unions continue to focus on deploying and deeply and widely understanding the Resolution of the 13th Congress of Vietnamese Trade Unions and the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Provincial Trade Unions; focus on organizing activities to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Trade Union; launch emulation movements at the grassroots; continue to carry out emulation to develop members and establish grassroots Trade Unions on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of Vietnamese Trade Union; implement peak month for member development, establish grassroots Trade Unions; develop a plan to support workers and employees and proactively grasp the situation of labor relations, employment, salaries, bonuses, especially at the end of the year and the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025; etc.

On this occasion, Long An had 19 collectives and 66 individuals receiving Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for their outstanding achievements in the movement of good labor emulation and building strong trade union organizations in 2023; 2 collectives receiving Emulation Flags from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and 3 collectives and 2 individuals receiving certificates of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Green - Clean - Beautiful - Safe -  Hygiene working environment " in 2023. In addition, the Provincial Labor Federation also awarded certificates of merit to 52 collectives and 79 individuals for their outstanding achievements in emulation movements./.
