Long An strengthens prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic

The conference aimed to grasp the guiding spirit of the Secretariat, ministries, central branches, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and grasp the situation of preventing and controling the disease in the province. Recently, the Central Government issued 165 documents related to the prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic, Long An province issued 89 documents related to this. The Provincial People's Committee has established a Steering Committee, a Mission Team to prevent and control dangerous diseases for people in the province and developed a plan with 3 situations to respond to epidemics, and at the same time, assigned members of the Steering Committee in charge of each locality.

The People's Committee of the province had the official request to suspend the organization of crowded activities; attaching importance to propaganda on disease prevention and fighting; organize inspection teams for disease prevention and control in localities. In the province, there are 4 health facilities capable of collecting and treating Covid-19 diseases; 2 places for concentrated isolation and treatment (Provincial Military School and Infantry Troop of Moc Hoa district).

Currently, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan to respond to 4 levels of disease. There are 28 cases of concentrated isolation in the whole province (10 cases end their isolation time) and 1,400 cases of family isolation (1,100 cases end their isolation time). The competent forces strictly manage the localities bordering Cambodia to prevent the epidemic from entering. Disease prevention and fighting activities have been actively implemented by all levels, sectors and localities.

Attending the conference, delegates focused on discussing solutions to deploying the prevention and control of epidemics.

Up to now, Long An has not recorded cases of Covid-19 epidemic. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh recognized and appreciated the efforts of all levels, sectors and localities in the prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemics.

However, due to the complicated and unpredictable epidemic situation in many countries and territories, he suggested: “All levels of Party committees, authorities, fronts, mass organizations from the province to grassroots levels continue to push. promote propaganda about the dangerous nature of the epidemic in order to raise the sense of responsibility of every citizen in protecting the health of oneself, family and society. The functional forces have strengthened supervision at border gates, trails and open ways; mobilize translation forces at the barricades. The Provincial Market Management Department coordinates with functional branches to check the operation of Thanh Hoa farmer's market; functional branches ensure goods to serve the needs of the people, strictly handle cases of speculation and hoarding of goods. The health sector must uphold the sense of responsibility in the prevention and control of epidemics; and so on".

At the conference, delegates participated in donations to support the Covid-19 epidemic prevention fund in response to the Call for all people to participate in preventing and fighting against the Covid-19 epidemics of the Chairman of the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee./.
