The NA delegation directly surveys Road 835B
According to report by the Department of Transport, the project has been implemented according to the financial agreement on traffic development in the Mekong Delta between the Vietnamese Government and International Development Association.
Investment capital totals VND142 billion including VND92 billion non-refunded offical development assistance (ODA) funds from the Australian Government and preferential loans by the World Bank, reciprocal capital from the central and, provincial budgets.
So far the project has been put into operation and positively contributed to improving and connecting traffic in My Yen commune, Ben Luc district and My Loc, Phuoc Ly, Long Thuong, Phuoc Hau communes in Can Giuoc.

However, the Department of Transport said that the number of projects using ODA and preferential loans has been limited. So it suggested the NA delegation to propose the NA and the central government to continue arranging funds to expand Highway 62, upgrade National Highway 1A or build a new road in parallel with the highway to reduce traffic pressure in the entrance gateway to the Mekong Delta.
Head of the NA delegation Truong Van No said that Road 835B has proved efficiency and met transport and travel demand of four communes in Can Giuoc. The delegation will consider the department’s proposal in the upcoming time./.
