Can Duoc is a locality with many products meeting OCOP standards. Up to now, the district has 10 OCOP products, of which, 7 get 4 stars and 3 get 3 stars. Referring to the famous OCOP product of Can Duoc, we must mention Co Chau sausage. This sausage brand was established more than 40 years ago. Currently, Ms. Luu Thi Kim Chau continues her family's traditional profession with Co Chau fresh sausage products. Their sausage is made from fresh pork, marinated according to the traditional recipe and dried directly in the sun. On rainy days, they use drying method. In 2021, Co Chau Sausage was recognized as 3-star OCOP product. This is a favorable condition to bring Co Chau sausage closer to consumers. In addition to the traditional distribution channel, at present, Co Chau sausages are available on e-commerce platforms, gradually entering the market outside the province.

Another famous product of Can Duoc that meets the 4-star OCOP standard is Mam Ba Thao. Recently, 7 products of Mam Ba Thao Company (mam ruoc, mam ca sac, mam ca linh, papaya mam, melon mam, cucumber mam, white eggplant mam) were recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as 4-star OCOP products.
Moringa products of Vuon Nha Minh Co., Ltd (Tan Binh commune, Tan Tru district) are also one of the well known OCOP products of Long An. Nutritional value and medicinal properties from moringa leaves and seeds are very good for health. After a period of research, Mr. Pham Ngoc Anh Tuan launched products from moringa with the brand name Vuon Nha Minh, such as moringa powder, moringa tea, moringa cake, moringa essential oil,etc. In 2021, Vuon Nha Minh products were recognized to meet the 4-star OCOP standard.
The production process of Mam Ba Thao in Can Duoc district both applies science, technology and traditional methods, contributing to raising the product level.
The OCOP program helps develop key products of each locality. Up to now, most localities in the province have deployed concentrated raw material areas, towards biosafety and organic production in order to attract businesses, organizations and cooperatives to participate in the production, processing and consuming process; at the same time, building specific agricultural product value chains. All branches must support OCOP production establishments from individuals, families, cooperative groups to establish enterprises and cooperatives; organize, advise and support economic organizations with products participating in the OCOP Program to invest in modern equipment and technology for production, processing and preservation; register trademark, develop business plan, access to capital.
However, there are still some localities that find difficulties in implementing the program, have not selected specific products or selected products have not met OCOP standards. The main reason is people still do not fully understand the benefits that the program brings, their production is small and fragmented, and they are not interested in quality registration, packaging design, product labels.

Registering to participate in the OCOP Program will help improve products in terms of production process, quality, packaging, labels, distribution channels, etc, to meet the increasing requirements of the market and promote products.

One of the factors for OCOP products to reach further is the promotion at trade promotion fairs and e-commerce platforms. Currently, many OCOP products of Long An have been "exported" through the e-commerce platforms. According to Mr. Tran Chan Thien (representative of Mam Ba Thao Co., Ltd), their products are sold at traditional markets and some e-commerce platforms. Being recognized as meeting OCOP standard is a favorable condition for the company's products to come closer to consumers. In the near future, the company will approach fastidious markets such as Japan, Korea,etc to introduce and promote specialties of the countryside Can Duoc as well as search and expand the market. Similarly, Co Chau sausage and moringa products of Vuon Nha Minh have also been listed on the e-commerce platforms and promoted at trade promotion fairs, thereby bringing products closer to consumers. In order to promote and bring OCOP products to consumers, it is necessary for enterprises and OCOP subjects to make efforts from input materials, production processes to packaging designs, etc to meet the evaluation criteria on the rating board.
Creating favorable conditions to bring OCOP products to consumers, the Department of Industry and Trade cooperated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize many seminars and conferences on trade promotion of OCOP products on e-commerce platforms; at the same time, supporting the producer to build a product brand identity system and standardize product quality, meeting export standards. Up to now, many OCOP products of the province are sold at large supermarkets, convenience stores and gradually approach foreign markets. Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development - Nguyen Thanh Truyen said: “The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to coordinate with other departments, branches and localities to support those who exploit, upgrade products and develop plans to support people to expand production.
