According to statistics, there are 19 urbans in the whole province. In which, Tan An city is a grade-II urbans; 6 grade-IV urbans include Kien Tuong town, Hau Nghia town, Ben Luc town, Can Duoc town, Can Giuoc town, Duc Hoa town and 12 grade-V urbans. With the orientations in urban development along with the investment, completion of the arterial traffic axes in the past time has greatly contributed to attracting investment, developing the province's economy in general and developing the industrial development in particular, promoting rapid and sustainable economic development.

Kien Tuong town is the central urban of Dong Thap Muoi region. Over the years, the town's landscape has made great progress thanks to its location advantage when it has Binh Hiep International Border Gate, connecting National Highway 62. According to Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Tuong town - Nguyen Van Vu, over the past years, the town has focused on urban development, upgrading and investing in key projects such as the commercial center, embankment, technical infrastructure of Binh Hiep International Border Gate Economic Zone, the system of roads and other infrastructure systems, gradually complete the criteria of a grade-III urban.

In Tan An City, after more than 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 02 of the Provincial Party Committee, the city's appearance has made comprehensive development steps, especially Tan An City is recognized as a grade-II urban in 2019. In particular, in the 2020-2025 term, the Program to mobilize all resources for construction and development of Tan An city basically meets the criteria of a grade-I city by 2025 in the direction of a friendly, civilized city. Modernism officially became one of two breakthrough programs to implement the Resolution of the XIth Tan An City Party Congress. This is also one of the conditions to build Tan An city worthy of being the political, administrative, economic, cultural, scientific and technical center of the province and aiming to become a smart city.

In order to achieve the goal of improving urban quality, in the coming time, the Department of Construction will focus on adjusting the development program of Long An province to 2030 in line with the national urban development situation approved by Decision No of the Prime Minister and the development orientation of 3 urban centers of Duc Hoa, Ben Luc and Can Giuoc that meet the criteria of grade-III or grade-IV urban in the whole district. In particular, the Department will strengthen inspection, guidance and support to approve the plannings of big projects, new projects of industrial zones and clusters, residential and urban projects. Adjusting and supplementing the housing development program in Long An province in the period of 2020-2025, with a vision to 2030; make annual and 5-year housing development plans in Long An province, period 2020-2025, complete the construction and operation of the real estate market information system in the province.

At the same time, advise on solutions to manage 20 percent of the land fund for social housing development according to current regulations; coordinate with relevant agencies to control the healthy and stable development of the real estate market; continue restructuring the real estate market in association with the implementation of the national housing development strategy, especially social housing; overcome the supply - demand phase difference; develop diversified real estate products. In construction management, focus on quality management, work maintenance, improve the efficiency of project appraisal, design and estimate appraisal, inspection and acceptance; well implement the management of domestic waste treatment prices and domestic clean water prices in the province; determine the price of drainage and wastewater treatment services, develop a roadmap for implementing and piloting for Tan An city.
