High growth industry
The provincial industrial production index in 10 months of 2022 increased by 11.28% over the same period. In which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 11.43%; production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, management, treatment of waste and wastewater by 4.14%; water supply, management and treatment of waste and wastewater increased by 0.6%. There are 47/60 groups with growth rate higher than the same period, which is an encouraging sign.
To achieve the above results, over the past time, provincial leaders have directed departments and sectors to implement many solutions to support and accompany enterprises in many fields, especially solving difficulties in production, business due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At the same time, the business community is also determined to restore production and business activities, contributing to promoting industrial production to develop stably.

Identifying transport infrastructure as a prerequisite for socio-economic development and regional linkages, the province focuses on completing a series of key transport projects. Currently, the province continues to invest in synchronous transport projects connecting the inter-region with provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces and cities in the Southeast region; at the same time, connection between localities in the province. The roads have been completed and created favorable conditions for enterprises in production and business such as Provincial Road 830, 825, 824, Ring Road of Tan An City, etc. Accordingly, enterprises invest in Long An will easily connect with Ho Chi Minh City, industrial zones and clusters in the province, thereby facilitating import and export activities, shortening time, reducing costs, and increasing competitiveness.

In addition, the support from the local government in providing electricity, labor force,etc helps businesses feel secure and focus on production. The main products of the company are frozen foods such as dumplings, rolls, shumai,etc. According to the plan, the production and sales volume of the company increased by more than 40% compared to 2021. The revenue also increased and create jobs, stable income for workers.

Promote investment attraction
Long An's goal is to become an industrially developed province and one of the important production centers of the southern region. Accordingly, the province has issued a list to promote and call for investment. In particular, for the industrial sector, the province prioritizes projects using high technology, clean technology and supporting industries with high value. At the same time, the province strengthens the development of key industries with competitive advantages such as component assembly, textiles, construction materials, and food processing.
The total area planned for industrial development in the province is 15,000 hectares, with 59 industrial clusters and 37 industrial zones approved. Currently, in the province, there are 22 operating industrial zones and 24 industrial zones eligible to receive investment. Since having industrial zones, the province has attracted 1,762 investment projects, of which there are 849 foreign investment capital (FDI) projects and 913 domestic projects. Industrial zones and clusters in the province are concentrated mainly in the districts adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City. The province's industrial zones and clusters attract a series of large investors with modern production lines and technology, and are ready to welcome new businesses and investors to Long An. In particular, many projects in the field of supporting industries have been invested in the province.
Typically, Long An Investment Company Limited (a subsidiary of Transimex Joint Stock Company) invests in Long An cold storage with a total capital of about 1,000 billion VND. The project is a multi-temperature cold storage system from -25oC to +18-20oC, suitable for all kinds of goods that require temperature preservation, from consumer foods to items for export services such as fruit, agriculture product, seafood,etc in Long An as well as Mekong Delta. It can be said that this will be the most modern cold storage in Vietnam and the region, with a structure including 1 fully automatic cold storage area with a capacity of 40,000 pallet positions with 18 floors of storage shelves, 1 semi-automatically operated cold and cool warehouse with a capacity of 15,000 pallet positions, 1 cargo handling area including preliminary processing, packaging, classification,etc fully comply with hygiene standards food safety, environmental protection as well as local regulations. There is also Lotte Eco Logis Long An Co., Ltd project of Lotte Land Co., Ltd (Korean investment capital) in Phu An Thanh Industrial Park, An Thanh commune, Ben Luc district with an area of 79,142m2 with total investment capital of phase 1 of 306 billion VND. Accordingly, Lotte Eco Logis Co., Ltd. invests in a project of warehousing services, storing goods and leasing warehouses.
In addition, to meet the needs of transportation, import and export, and improve competitiveness for businesses, the province plans 6 logistics centers including 3 located in Thanh Phu, Thanh Loi and Luong Hoa communes (Ben Luc district), with a total area of about 110ha; 1 located in Binh Hiep International Border Gate Economic Zone (Kien Tuong town), with an area of 10ha; 1 located in My Quy Tay border gate (Duc Hue district), with an area of 10ha; and 1 located in Long An International Port (Can Giuoc district). Up to now, logistics centers in Thanh Phu commune and at Long An International Port have been put into operation.
Long An is located in the Southern Key Economic Zone, being the gateway from Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast to the southwestern provinces, with borders, border gates and international ports. Thereby, Long An has advantages in industrial development, trade - service and high-tech agriculture.
In the coming time, the province will focus on implementing solutions to improve the investment and business environment, striving to improve the provincial competitiveness index., at the same time, strengthen administrative reform, improve the quality of administrative procedures, minimize the need for businesses and people to travel, regularly organize contact and dialogue activities with enterprises on a monthly basis to promptly support and remove difficulties in the production and business process./.
