According to statistics from the Department of Overseas Labour (DoLAB) under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, roughly 16,080 employees (5,626 female) departed to work overseas in September alone.

Japan, Chinese Taipei and the Republic of Korea (RoK) are among the top largest host markets for Vietnamese overseas workers.

With regard to the Korean market, a report from the Vietnam Labour Management Board in the RoK read that by the end of June, the number of Vietnamese labourers working in the RoK under its Employment Permit System for Hiring Foreign Workers (EPS) counted 38,331.

Under its set quota for receiving foreign labourers in 2018, the RoK is expected to host 3,500 Vietnamese labourers to work in its manufacturing sector, not including agriculture and fisheries.
