Long An: 114 billion VND mobilized to donate breeding cows and build houses for poor in rural and border areas
With the support of the Former State President - Truong Tan Sang and some cadres from Long An province who are working or living in Ho Chi Minh City, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front organized to launch campaign charity activities in Long An province. This included the program of donating breeding cows and houses to the poor people in rural and border areas of the province.
Many poor households are donated cows
In particular, in order to contribute to improving living conditions and supporting production facilities for poor and near-poor farmers in the border areas, leaders of Long An province and districts and towns mobilized more than 60 billion VND to build gratitude houses. Thereby, they awarded nearly 1,000 houses and are continuing to receive fund to deploy construction for another 500 houses in the first months of 2020.
In addition, the province has mobilized the program for donating cow breeds, worth more than 54 billion VND, bought and directly handed over more than 4,000 cows to the poor farmers. This is a very meaningful program for the remote and border areas in implementing the policy of sustainable poverty reduction.
From this source of breeding cows, the localities guide farmers on breeding techniques, supporting breeding grasses, and inoculating against diseases to ensure good cow growth and development. Accordingly, the first breeding cow donated to farmers to care and now started giving birth. The local farmers recognized the benefits of breeding cows, invested in buying and multiplying the breeding herd of the province more than double the number of breeding cows funded by the program.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can highly appreciated and acknowledged the share, support and help of benefactors. The donation of gratitude houses and breeding cows contributed to improving and developing the lives of the poor in remote and border areas.
